Stories

Vos en de zoektocht naar liefde

Vos en de zoektocht naar liefde (translated to; Fox and the search to love) is Finya's first self-made book. Inspired by her brother's journey through life, Finya originally wrote this allegorical story as a personal birthday gift. Finya felt a need to make the story into something physical, and that is what sparked her interest in bookbinding.

The story follows a fox—representing her brother—on a quest to find a place of love. Along the way he encounters a cat, a bunny, and a bear, who symbolise Finya and their parents.

The book features many colourful illustrations, also made by Finya.

us • stories of him and her

us • stories of him and her is a collection of fictional yet realistic stories that capture the essence of Finya and her partner. Each story is inspired by real or imagined moments the two of them were in, or could be in, and are based on who the both of them are as people, both individually and together.

This book is about playful exploration, warm intimacy, and being a team.

Sterren met staarten

Sterren met staarten (translated as; Stars with tails) is a collection of short stories about fatherhood. Created as a gift for her father, Finya wrote multiple stories about her dad and her youth. Some stories are based on actual moments in their lives, while others are imaginative interpretations of their lives together—one story reimagines a day from his childhood, and another is simply a funny metaphor about the people in Finya's family.

The title is a play on words, an inside joke, that Finya's father's father used to say when Finya's father was little.

The round shapes on the cover of the booklet represent what Finya's father's voice looks like to her, synesthetically.

Graduation concert flyer

For Finya's graduation she designed a tri fold flyer to promote the concert. The front of the flyer uses a similar design to that of the concert poster, while the inside features a cloud photograph, reminiscent of those in the EP book, taken by Erik Verhoef.

In the flyer includes a piece about Finya as an artist, a description of the event, and details about her team. It also included concrete information about the time and date, ticket purchasing information, and where to find more about Finya.
