Other work

Knitwear for release concert 'Broken Open'

For the release concert of the EP 'Broken Open', which was also her conservatory graduation show, Finya worked with four instrumentalists and four vocalists, for a performance in EKKO, Utrecht.

For this performance, Finya knitted unique pieces of knitwear for herself and all four vocalists. These knitted pieces were a dark blue, to compliment the colour scheme of the EP.

Finya's own outfit consisted of multiple loose cables, stitched together, and held together by a ribbed collar and ribbed waistbands, with a string to tie it at the back. This piece was the main focus, and the most challenging one to make. The piece is made specifically to fit Finya.

The vocalists all wore different, custom pieces.

One item was loose strips of stockinette stitch, with a singular cable as a waistband, and one as a collar. This was worn over a light blue, lacy body.

Next were two sleeves, with three tighter sections and two looser sections, creating a ballooning effect.

Then a simple, short-sleeved shrug. A shrug is just the sleeve and collar part of a top.

Lastly was a tapered collar, with fringe all around it.

During the performance, the vocalists wore these outfits, and the instrumentalists were decorated with the yarn that wasn't used.
